Selecting the Right Materials and Additives

Choosing the right material and additives for your project can be a complex task if you're unfamiliar with the market. At Kent Precision, we work closely with leading suppliers and manufacturers to help you source the ideal polymer, masterbatches, or additives tailored to your specific application.

We offer a broad range of options to ensure your project meets the necessary requirements. For colour selection, we provide over 200 universal or polymer-specific colours, many of which are available off the shelf. Additionally, we can match colours to a RAL, Pantone, or swatch, which will then be sampled, and a masterbatch will be produced for trials.

Polymer Additives

We can source various polymer additives to enhance the properties of your components, including:

  • Blowing Agents: Used to reduce weight and cycle time, creating a honeycomb-like internal structure within the moulding. Compatible with ABS, PS, PU, EVA, PE, PP, and more.
  • Stabilisers: UV and heat-resistant additives that extend the life of moulded components.
    • Fillers: Such as talc, calcium, and fibres, used to reduce density and cost.

  • Antistatic Additives: Commonly used in ABS, PC, and PP.
  • Flame Retardants: To reduce the flammability of the material.
  • Laser Marking Additives: These additives react chemically when exposed to a laser, creating marked surfaces. A variety of colours are available for laser marking.
  • Antimicrobial Additives: Made with silver or zinc to reduce microbial growth and improve hygiene
